Recently we have developed 'Oxo-Biodegradable coated paper packaging material' named 'ECO-V-PACK', which is moisture proof with barrier property (WVTR & OTR Property) and heat sealable to meet the latest standards of the industry. It is suitable for packaging of individual tea bag envelope & different food items being packed in normal poly coated paper.

When it gets exposed to open environment after completing its useful life (Shelf Life), it degrades & then biodegrades in same way as nature’s waste without leaving any toxic residue or any fragment of plastic.

Oxo-biodegradable plastic technology is based on catalytic materials which promote degradation of polyolefins such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) (and co-polymers, thereof) via catalysis of the natural oxidative chain-cleavage leading to molecular-weight reduction and oxidation of the polymer. This causes a loss of mechanical properties, oxygen uptake, increased hydrophilicity, and reduced molecular-weight ultimately resulting in a material which is no longer a plastic and can be assimilated into the environment by micro-organisms commonly found on land and in the oceans.

This packaging is stable in cool, dark condition for completion of its useful life (Shelf life) with ambient temperature & after completing its useful life (shelf life) in presence of oxygen and sunlight / heat (UV), it starts the degradation due its special coating of Oxo-biodegradable material & then biodegrades in same way as nature’s waste without leaving any toxic residue or any fragment of plastic or micro plastic or heavy metals.

• Special catalytic material is added at the preparation of Special Coating which promotes degradation in presence of Oxygen & Sunlight after the useful life (shelf life).

• First the product will degrade and then biodegrade in a continuous, irreversible and unstoppable process leaving nothing more than carbon dioxide, water and biomass. (Tested as per ASTM D 6954)
